Aneesoft Free iPhone Video Converter is a free video converter. It allows you to convert video files for playback on both the iPhone 3G/S and the newer iPhone 4, and on other devices that support MPEG-4 and H.264 playback, of course. Aneesoft has lots of free converters, but they are somewhat limited. In the case of this one, the limitations consist of limited input file support and the lack of a video editor and merger. This is not a big deal if the files that you want to convert are supported by the free version. For example, video formats like MKV, VOB and MP4 cannot be opened with the free version of this converter. AVI, WMV, ASF, RM and others work just fine.
Graphically, the converter looks rather simple, but there is an intuitive graphic interface in place. There is a video player for video previews, but I couldn't get it to work completely. Audio was played but video wasn't displayed.
In terms of performance, the converter works well. In my testing, I converted an FLV file into the MPEG-4 profile for the iPhone 4 and the file looked very good. There is a nag screen that pops-up continuously, but you can just ignore it.
